Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the questions travellers ask us most.
How long does it take to reach the Sahara from Agadir?
Erg Chebbi (the dunes near Merzouga) is about 12 hours’ driving from Agadir, which is why Sahara tours are always 2 nights minimum. Our 3-day itinerary breaks it: Agadir → Tata → Merzouga (Day 1), Merzouga + camel trek + desert camp (Day 2), Merzouga → Agadir via the Drâa valley (Day 3).
What’s included in a Sahara tour from Agadir?
All transport in air-conditioned 4×4, English/French-speaking driver-guide, half-board accommodation (hotel night 1, desert camp night 2), camel trek into the dunes, all breakfasts and dinners. Lunches and drinks are typically extra.
Where do we sleep in the desert?
Inside Erg Chebbi at a permanent Berber-style luxury camp — private tent with a real bed, ensuite shower, traditional dinner under the stars, music around the fire, and breakfast watching sunrise from the dunes.
When is the best time to visit the Sahara?
October to April — daytime 18–28°C, nights 5–15°C. May–September is hot (35–45°C); we still run tours but most travellers prefer the cooler months. Avoid Ramadan if you want full restaurant availability en route.
Is the Sahara tour suitable for kids or older travellers?
Yes — we’ve hosted travellers from age 5 to 78. The drive is long but split into 3-hour stretches with photo stops. Camels are optional (you can ride a 4×4 to the camp). All meals are included so dietary needs (vegetarian, gluten-free, halal) are accommodated.
